The Philbrook

Harrison's preschool class took a field trip to the Philbrook Museum of Art.  I was amazed at how well these 4 year olds behaved as they were given a tour of the Native American Art Exhibit.  It was so much fun to watch them!  I am so grateful that my friend watched Landry for me so that I could have this experience.  I forgot my camera, but I was actually pretty impressed with the quality of the pictures I got from my iPhone.
Buddy up!
The grounds were gorgeous.
I love group pictures of young kids.  They always make me laugh.

Easter

On Good Friday, Harrison and I made brownies to hand out to all the workers in our neighborhood.  (We live in a new neighborhood with lots of construction going on).  We just went up to random construction sites and he would carefully give each person a brownie and say "Happy Easter!"  I was so proud of him.  Some people seemed a little confused by it, and others were really grateful.  But the best part was how great it made Harrison feel to hand them out.

It's kind of like watching paint dry.  :)

Another Soccer Game

Obviously I take way too many pictures at Harrison's soccer games, and now I am going to post way too many pictures on my blog. If you know me at all then you are not surprised. He had another great game and had so much fun with his teammates. I love how he is always smiling while he is playing.

Celebrating after a goal.Landry has fun at the games too.

Baseball Practice

I have definitely watched my share of baseball in my lifetime, but there is nothing more fun than watching my husband playing catch with our son. Justin loves baseball, but he never wanted to push it on Harrison. It has been so awesome to see Harrison getting interested in playing and Justin getting the opportunity to teach him.

Landry enjoyed watching her brother and even cheered him on when he did well.
Break time to hang out with Jamelle for a bit.

Sprinklers!

We have had an extremely mild winter here in Tulsa and I feel like summer has started and it is only March. I am not complaining! We love being outside and this warm weather was a perfect excuse to play in the sprinklers.

St. Patrick's Day in Topeka

We traveled to Topeka to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the Hogan Clan. Aunt Rachel made the trip from Atlanta, so that made the trip even more fun for us. My Dad dressed up as St. Patrick, and he told me that he had tons of people doing the sign of the cross when they saw him, so apparently he was pretty convincing. If you can't tell by the big yawn in the top picture, the parade was the same time as Landry's nap. We went early and she was not too cooperative, so I ended up taking her home to nap while the grandparents and Aunt Rachel participated in the parade with Harrison. I was told that he had an awesome time.

Cousins Visit

Harrison has been asking me for awhile now who his cousins are. He has a friend that has cousins he spends lots of time with, and he wants to have that too. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any first cousins yet. He has lots of second cousins, but we don't get to see them very often. So we were extremely excited to learn that my cousin is moving to Tulsa this summer! They came for a visit to check out their new school and Harrison (and Landry) were super excited for a cousins sleepover.

Enjoying the talking parrot on Mimi's iPhone.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!!!!!

Harrison had been looking forward to this day for weeks - his first soccer game. You can see even while they were warming up he was so excited.

He's got his game face on!

He scored his first goal! I am so glad that Granddad was there to capture the action because I was so busy cheering him on I didn't get any pictures of this part. So proud of him!

Cardboard Box Fun

We all know how kids love cardboard boxes. So when I ordered some new counter stools I knew I had to save the boxes for something fun. Harrison and I got on Pinterest for inspiration and he decided on a rocket ship and a boat. I was all out of mailing tape, so I had to use duct tape and painting tape. Whatever works!

No training wheels!

Harrison decided it was time to ride his bike without training wheels. This was brought on by the fact that his two buds in our neighborhood took off their training wheels. I tried to put him off because Justin wasn't home yet, and told him I didn't know how to remove the training wheels. So he proceeded to go into Justin's tool box, find the right wrench and take them off himself.
The second one was a little tough so he enlisted Matthew for some help.
I could tell he was nervous, but he was bound and determined to do it! A perfect example of when his strong will is actually a good thing.
I was so proud of him and it was awesome to see how proud he was of himself.
